Inspired by a photograph of a striking bird, The Gilded Flight Cuff is part of Maison Litterati's series of Menagerie creations born from images in nature that simply demanded a second look.

The original photograph becomes a point of departure rather than something to reproduce. Here, the bird's extraordinary silhouette, sweeping plumage and unexpected combination of colors are transformed into an elaborate composition of precious stones.

At the center, a sculptural bird emerges in warm tones of garnet and sapphire, its elongated beak defined by lines of white diamonds. From its body, magnificent jeweled plumage sweeps outward across the cuff—deep reds and rich cognac tones flowing in one direction, vivid greens and blues in the other.

Black diamonds create depth and shadow beneath the feathers, while ribbons of white diamonds weave through the composition, catching the light and emphasizing the movement of each individually articulated form.

The asymmetry is intentional. Rather than creating two identical wings, the design celebrates the extraordinary variations of color found in nature, allowing the cuff to feel alive—as though the bird and its feathers are moving across the wrist.
